Mad over Mee Goreng

Before you think I am mad, let me clarify. It's my mother. She went crazy over this dish called Mee Goreng. What else would you call someone who has the same dish for breakfast, lunch and dinner - and pay for it each time?

Flash back.

Almost a month back - Oct 19th to be precise. We are ready for our 'most awaited holiday' - (phrase: courtesy Amma). They said we are going to Bali. Now, what is that?

"Is there a TV in the room and do they have Doremon?" - I wanted to know before Achan looked at me with deep empathy, that 'when will this girl grow out of Doremon'- look.  The flight journey was long, as expected Achan filled the entire journey with selfies. Him, Us, Him-Us, Us-Him, Him-Us-World and many such combinations.

I really thought Bali is like a big monster thing - a half human-half mountain kind of place. But, guess what - it's a really cool place. I loved the villa. It had a private pool and no TV ( Have strong reason to believe that it was taken away on Achan's behest). Nice and hot weather, good food (read - thin crust pizzas), too much walking, temples, beaches, swimming pool, thin crust pizzas again, beach, cycle, ice creams, thin crust pizzas, walking, shopping, airconditioners, spas, thin crust pizzas.

Coming back to Mee Goreng - It's a Balinese dish - basically noodles, many vegetables and egg, prepared with some Balinese sauce. It tasted good (changing to superlative for mom - It tasted the best!) she became a fan of this dish. She ordered it almost everyday. It was like, she was a Mee Goreng herself in her previous life.

I enjoyed my holiday. I loved the beach, the cycling, the food, temples and my photography (yes! I have a camera for myself now). I was so good at photography that Achan started taking my advise for some shoots and I was glad he was willing to learn.

Me at work. This little rhino was in front of a house opposite to our hotel. We invited ourselves to the house and took some nice pictures.
Overall we had a nice time. Long live Mee Goreng.
